Elon Musk has recently offered insight into his estrangement from his transgender daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson. At 19 years old, Vivian underwent a legal gender and name change last year, opting to create some distance from her billionaire father. In an excerpt from an upcoming biography penned by Walter Isaacson, Musk revealed that this separation has deeply impacted him.

Initially, Musk was accepting of Vivian's transition, but he grew concerned when she adopted strong Marxist beliefs, including the notion that wealth equates to inherent evil. Musk attributed some of these ideological shifts to Vivian's time at Crossroads, a prestigious private high school in Santa Monica with a substantial tuition fee.

Isaacson's biography unveiled that Vivian confided in Elon's brother's wife about her transgender identity when she was just 16, requesting that her father not be informed. This event played a role in Musk's increasing apprehension regarding what he perceives as the 'woke' ideology, which he sees as a threat to civilization and which motivated his acquisition of Twitter.

While Musk had previously pointed fingers at 'woke' schools for his strained relationship with Vivian, this marks the first time he has explicitly mentioned Crossroads. The school, renowned for its celebrity alumni, has evolved into a prestigious educational institution over the years.

In April 2022, Vivian legally changed her name and gender, a move aimed at creating separation from her father, who currently holds the title of the world's wealthiest individual. Her mother is Justine Wilson, a Canadian writer to whom Musk was married from 2000 to 2008.
